Pastor Julio Angel Vazquez was born on September 15, 1969, in New York, the youngest of three children to Felix and Olga Vazquez. Raised in the vibrant city of New York, Julio’s life was marked by a powerful encounter with Jesus at the age of 14, when he opened his heart to the Lord. This pivotal moment became the foundation for his lifelong journey of faith, shaping the rest of his life in Christ.

Throughout his years of service, Pastor Julio developed a deep passion for ministry, particularly through the Music Ministry. His heart for worship and connection with God led him to recognize a greater calling on his life—one that would not only allow him to serve in music but also as a leader and spiritual guide for others.

In 2010, Pastor Julio followed God’s leading and planted The Chapel in the South Bronx, a church where he faithfully served as Lead Pastor for many years. Under his leadership, The Chapel became a beacon of hope and community, touching countless lives. His ministry has always been centered on growing people in their relationship with God and empowering them to walk in their prophetic destiny through Jesus Christ.

In September 2024, Pastor Julio received a prophetic word from the Lord, calling him to “do what you have been called to do.” Heeding this divine call, Pastor Julio took a bold step of faith and launched Freedom Chapel in Jefferson Valley, NY. His heart is to create a place where people can experience true healing and restoration, cultivating a deeper intimacy with God, and living out their God-given purpose.

Beyond ministry, Pastor Julio has a lifelong passion for music. He plays the bass and has spent over 30 years as a DJ, combining his love for music with his desire to connect with people. This creative outlet has always been an essential part of his life, both personally and in ministry.

Pastor Julio is supported by his beautiful family, including his 35-year-old son, Brandon, his 17-year-old daughter, Bella, and his 14-year-old son, Benjamin. Together, they are committed to building God’s Kingdom and sharing His love with the world.

Pastor Julio’s greatest desire is for everyone who walks through the doors of Freedom Chapel to encounter the love and power of God in a transformative way, finding healing, purpose, and an ever-deepening relationship with the Lord.
